SandSI celebrates its 5th Anniversary !

Today we are delighted to celebrate SandSI’s 5th Anniversary!

SandSI’s inaugural Extraordinary General Assembly took place on May 23, 2017 in Paris
with a fantastic group of founding members.

Over the last 5 years SandSI has evolved into a truly global organisation that remains focused on making a positive impact and creating a better world for all.

Ever since the beginning our mission at SandSI has been, and continues to be, to accelerate sustainability in and through sport.
It is a mission that, during this decade of action, has become even more important today.

As we celebrate this milestone, we are taking a moment to reflect on our journey so far. Below are just a few ways we are working towards realising our mission, together with our members and partners:

·      We have established an international network with members from over 40 nations across all continents.

·      We have built an engaged and passionate community of over 4,000 followers (…accumulated across all our social media channels)

·      We created Football4Climate, an initiative that focuses on leveraging the power of football to drive change.

·      We established the Sustainable Sport Lab, a programme that promotes industry-wide collaboration, exploration and innovation focused on sustainability.

·      Together with our partners at Think Sport and Sustainable Mountain Alliance, we introduced the first Air Quality & Sport Challenge.

·      In collaboration with our partners in sport, we have hosted and participated in several industry events that put sustainability at the forefront, with the goal of leveraging sport to help resolve some of the greatest challenges facing the world today.

It is only through the steadfast dedication and commitment of our passionate members and partners that we’ve been able to imagine, develop and launch these and many other initiatives - with the goal of driving awareness, sparking conversations and advancing sustainability across our industry.

To all our members and our community around the world, we THANK YOU for your continued support and contribution to the progress we’ve made so far on this journey.

As we look forward, by continuing to work together with our valued members and partners, we are optimistic about the possibilities and the potential of what our industry can achieve in the days, months, and years to come. And no doubt, as we continue to work together towards our common and global sustainable development goals,
the future is bright!
