SandSI Joins the UNFCCC Climate Neutral Now Initiative With Aim to Inspire Action Across the Sport and Sustainability Movement
July 9th, 2021 - Sport and Sustainability International (SandSI) is delighted to be participating in the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC)’s Climate Neutral Now initiative, in an effort to help drive greater awareness about global climate issues, as well as inspire action throughout the wider sports and sustainability community.
Climate Neutral Now is a program designed to promote and encourage voluntary and measurable actions on climate on the part of participating organizations. The program helps organizations assess and measure their carbon footprints, with the goal of advancing their efforts towards becoming climate neutral.
As a participant of the Climate Neutral Now initiative, SandSI will leverage and implement the programs’ carbon calculator, a tool created to measure an organization’s carbon emissions, as well as follows recommendations for reduction efforts, compensation of emissions and reporting practices. SandSI’s members will also gain access to the carbon calculator tool, leading to even greater adoption, implementation and reporting practices across the industry.

We believe this collaboration will further enhance the initiatives we currently have in place, while at the same time drive awareness and inspire measurable action throughout the wider sport community.”

By participating in the UNFCCC’s Climate Neutral Now program and extending
the carbon calculator to its members, SandSI is moving even closer towards attaining the goals it has set out in alignment with the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals for 2030. And when it comes to the topic of measurement, by every calculation taken to assess the current global climate situation - what is clear for all stakeholders across all industries is that there is little time to waste, and every action counts.
